As an intern at Kander, I was able to create a web version of Kander which allows users to vote on posts directly from the web. Under intense time pressure, I successfully replicated the mobile iPhone app of Kander on the web and assisted on the overall design of the webapp, helping out vastly on the front-end as well as the back-end.
In addition to the webapp, as the lead web developer at Kander, I designed a fresh static corporate website from scratch. Acknowledging that a majority of Kander's community is on the iPhone, it was important to me to make sure the website I designed was consistent and compatible on all mobile devices.
Creativity and strong planning is success. When designing a UI, it is important to acknowledge various factors and assure that your design is neither too simple nor too complex in order to make life easier for clients and users.
Data is important. When syncing a database to the front-end of a webapp or website for millions of viewers, it is important to take precautions in order to keep your company's data secure at all times.
In addition to accuracy and precision and paying attention to detail to what a client might need, it is just as important to produce reliable and clean code that doesn't crash among different operating systems and devices.
Visual appeal is the hook to your novel or essay. It is one of the most important attributes of a website/webapp. Better design keeps a user more active and entertained.
